The 2022 NWPS band camp, held in Arcadia last weekend, was a great success. It was our first time at Vision Valley for several years and the kids all enjoyed the novel venue. Fun was had by all, with lots of activities (including the ‘sugar glider’, crate stacking and damper making), and team games.
Musically, the weekend was also a huge success, with the kids having multiple rehearsals with their ensembles, as well as dedicated tutorials for their instrument groups. The weekend culminated in a ‘super group’ performance with Strings, Training Band, and our Intermediate and Senior bands playing Crocodile Rock, with our parent and grandparent audience singing along.
The Band Committee is enormously grateful to our Band Camp Coordinator, Nicky, who has spent the past year planning out the camp, as well as all the parent volunteers, without whose help the camp couldn’t have gone ahead.
